In the mood for some refined fusion? Looking to give your palate some spontaneous combustion?  You can have all that at Yaku.

The new “Chifa”-style restaurant mixes Chinese and Peruvian cuisine and basically allows you to soak two cultures up in one place.

This latest culinary advancement from the talented team behind Latin Concepts and brainchild Mauricio Fraga-Rosenfeld comes complete with a modern dining space of soaring windows and spacious tables. An enomatic wine bar along one wall makes for very easy self service. Simply choose from several varietals and slip in your credit card for a glass of fresh vino.

Then, of course, is the most important part -- the food. There is a striking balance of both Chinese and Peruvian dishes from Dim Sum to authentic Peruvian fare. A great start is the duck roll stuffed yucca croquettes. Crispy salmon rolls are also a big hit.

Share some lemon-grass chicken skewers cooked in a delicate coconut milk sauce. Ease into the seco de carne, a slow cooked beef dish served with potatoes in a rich cilantro-laced stew. A rumored favorite is the Aji di Gallina, a pulled chicken and rice combo served in a decadently rich cream concoction.

Let's not forget the happy hour from 5-7:30 p.m. during the week. Make sure to indulge in one of their popular happy hour options: two-for-one dim sum. Thursday through Saturday a DJ takes over for the late-night crowd that wants to linger.

So after dinner lean back and sip a few Caipirinhas well into the night ...

Oh, and the name?  Yaku is an Incan word that means “water.”
