Drink In (Or Out Of) The Real World

Some bars will stay out of the spotlight during filming of the show's 23rd season

MTV's "The Real World" is about to take the capital by storm and as anyone who's ever seen the show can tell you, there's bound to be a lot of drinking. Which means the seven "social butterflies" will be taking up shop in local DC watering holes and clubs.

Whether you're thrilled or up in arms over the notion that your next night out may be interrupted by an entourage of cameramen and lighting grips -- its time to start choosing where you go wisely.

The Washington Post's Going Out Gurus talked to some of the most popular places in the district to see how they would handle the public onslaught should it arrive at their front door.

Two spots -- Black Cat and the Wonderland Ballroom -- told the GOG Blog their places are off limits, but several others said they would gladly welcome the crew.

MTV has to post signs outside any place they are filming so keep your eyes peeled if you don't want to get caught on camera.

By the way, if you do happen to be out when some "Real" drama breaks out, don't forget to send along your iPhone video to your friends at NBC DC.
