See the Bat “Bryce Harper” Gave Ozzie Guillen

In case you're unfamiliar with the mini-argument that occured last weekend between Washington Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper and Miami Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen, here is a run-on sentence recap.

Guillen called Harper "unprofessional" after a gesture the latter made towards the former after the former complained that the latter had too much pine tar on his bat...(deep gasp of air)...which led the Nationals, particularly first baseman Adam LaRoche, to send a bat to Guillen "signed" by Harper as a way to squash the beef.

Get all that? Probably not, right? Here are more coherent links to fill you in.

Now that you're all caught up, a picture of the bat in question has surfaced, courtesy of Guillen's son, Oney.

Guillen told the Marlins' website that the inscription on the bat said, "To my hero, Ozzie, love you." The picture above, however, shows that the bat is signed, "To Ozzie, your my hero." Perhaps "your" was a joke at the expense of Harper's age. Maybe LaRoche has horrible grammar. Either way, it makes this story even funnier.

The bat indeed has a Harper-like signature, down to the appearance of Luke 1:37, which Dan Steinberg points out is a regular part of Harper's autograph.

Don't lie. Someone out there would buy this bat if it was for sale.
