For the first time since the lockout began on Dec. 2, Major League Baseball and the MLB Players Association reportedly plan to hold a bargaining session this Thursday. ESPN's Jeff Passan first reported the news.

MLB is expected to make a core-economics proposal at the meeting, according to Passan.
Time is running out if the sides hope to continue with spring training as scheduled. The first exhibition games are set for the end of February, while pitchers and catchers generally report to camp in early-to-mid February.
While it's unreasonable to expect a deal on Thursday after the sides haven't spoken for over a month, it's still encouraging that they are finally meeting.
