Kevin Huerter came away with a nice pay-day on the night before the 2021-22 NBA regular season began, reportedly signing a four-year, $65 million contract extension with the Hawks.

Huerter is about to begin his fourth year in the NBA after starring at Maryland under Mark Turgeon from 2016-18. The Hawks took him with the 19th pick in the 2018 draft and now they've ensured he's a part of their team moving forward.
Huerter's been a steady contributor for the Hawks in each of his first three seasons in the league, averaging just over 11 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.3 assists in 200 career games. However, it wasn't until his first playoff appearance this past summer where Huerter earned his money.
The young swingman and Trae Young each had major breakout performances in the 2021 playoffs, helping lead the Hawks to the conference finals for the first time in six years. Young was the star the whole way, while Huerter came up big in the Hawks' second-round upset over the Sixers.
The Hawks are preparing to make another run at the conference finals this year, and by the looks of their investment, Huerter is going to play a key role.
