Maryland Commit Julian Reese Shows Out With Ridiculous Triple-Double

Maryland commit Reese dominates with crazy triple-double originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington

There are great games, there are monster games, and then there's what Maryland basketball signee Julian Reese did on Friday night.

Playing for St. Frances Academy in Baltimore, Reese put forth a jaw-dropping stat line: 40 points, 22 rebounds and 10 blocks.

Any one of these numbers would be ridiculous in a vacuum. 40-point games are rare. So are 20-rebound games and 10-block games. So combining all three in the same effort is one of the most impressive triple-doubles you'll ever see.

After the game, Reese spoke about what went right.

"I try to come out and give my 100% every game," he told Capitol Hoops. "It just happened to go my way this game."

Reese is one of three members of Maryland's incoming 2021 recruiting class, and is the next in line of local big men. He isn't as highly rated as recent top-10 pick Jalen Smith was coming out of Baltimore, but if he continues to improve at the rate he has this summer, then he can still make a similar impact when he gets to College Park.
