Justin Tucker Misses Two First-Half Field Goals as Ravens, Bills Deal With Wind

Justin Tucker is, statistically, the most accurate kicker in NFL history, but he hasn't been a weapon for the Ravens through the first half in Buffalo.

In each of the first two quarters of the Ravens' Divisional Round matchup with the Bills, Tucker has missed a field goal attempt that would normally be well within his range.

The first miss was from 41 yards out, the first postseason miss from under 50 yards in Tucker's career.

The first miss can easily be explained by troubles kicking into the wind. Longtime punter Sam Koch also shanked a punt kicking into the wind, and when the field flipped in the second quarter, the Bills' kicker missed a shorter kick as well.

But the problems continued for Tucker, who missed a 46-yarder in the second quarter, when the wind would theoretically have been at his back. Neither miss was by much, as Tucker hit the left upright on the first attempt and the right upright on the second. But a miss is a miss, and it is especially stunning to see it come from a kicker with a resume like Tucker's.

It's just the fourth time in his career he's missed multiple kicks in a single game, and the first time since 2018.

Big kicks, clutch kicks, bad-weather kicks, Tucker has done it all. But he hasn't been able to split the uprights on Saturday night, and it will be interesting to see if head coach John Harbaugh adjusts his fourth-down decision making in the second half.
