How to Watch D.C. United Vs. CF Montreal

How to watch D.C. United vs. CF Montreal originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington

While D.C. United is already looking ahead to 2023, their last two games of the current campaign do bear some significance for the playoff race. The Black and Red sit at last place in the Eastern Conference, but their matchup on Saturday night at home against CF Montreal should make waves in the rest of MLS.

Montreal is currently second in the conference and is essentially locked into that spot, as their 59 points on the season are five behind conference-best Philadelphia and nine atop third-place NY Red Bulls. However, working out the squad's kinks before the playoffs begin would be a huge boost to their chances.

Here's everything you need to know to watch D.C. United vs. CF Montreal.

D.C. UNITED vs. CF MONTREAL: WHAT TO WATCH

Since announcing Wayne Rooney as its next head coach, D.C. United has made a series of moves to reshape their roster. Julian Gressel and Edison Flores have been traded or sold, while Miguel Barry, Christian Benteke and Martin Rodriguez highlight the club's incoming players.

As the team adjusts to new personnel on the field, Rooney has his work cut out for him as he tries to elevate the squad from the league's basement next season.

D.C. UNITED vs. CF Montreal: PLAYERS TO WATCH

Taxi Fountas, D.C. United (21 games, 3 assist, 12 goals): Fountas has been one of the few bright spots for D.C. United this season, netting 12 goals in 17 starts and 21 appearances on the year. Fountas earned an MLS All-Star selection for his play so far this season.

Romell Quioto, Montreal (30 games, 15 goals, 6 assists): The veteran winger is far and away Montreal's leading scorer this season. If D.C. United hopes to win on Saturday, their effort will have to start with containing Quioto.
