Chad Johnson Predicts McLaurin and Samuel Go Crazy This Season

Chad Johnson is high on Washington's WRs this season originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington

Once again, Chad Johnson has decreed his love in the potential that Washington's wide receiver duo possesses for the Burgundy and Gold this season.

A few months after Johnson immediately tweeted a bold prediction for Terry McLaurin after Washington reached an agreement with veteran quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, Johnson doubled down on his take to include Curtis Samuel into the equation.

"Remember this tweet: Terry McLaurin & Curtis Samuel are gonna go crazy with Fitzpatrick at the helm, an aggressive QB that takes chances & will improvise at the (line of scrimmage) & these two have the skill set that makes his job easier, i guarantee their production is bananas, no hat," Johnson wrote.

McLaurin has established himself as one of the premier young talents in the NFL at the wideout position despite catching passes from seven QBs in his first two professional seasons. Samuel, likewise, has shown promise despite the Panthers' QB instability.

Washington will rely on Fitzpatrick to provide some magic should he win the QB competition with Taylor Heinicke and company, as having McLaurin and Samuel on the other side is quite the speedy luxury as a pass thrower.

McLaurin is coming off a 2020-21 campaign in which he produced 11,118 receiving yards on 87 catches and four touchdowns. Samuel caught 77 balls for 851 yards and three touchdowns. It'll be music to Washington fans' ears if Johnson's guarantee turns into reality in terms of their production.
