Capitals' Canine Calendar is here and it's the perfect holiday gift originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington
If there are two things Washingtonians sure do love, it's NHL hockey and puppies. Well, the Washington Capitals have combined the two to make one of the best promotional items this side of the Mississippi: the team's annual Canine Calendar!
The Canine Calendar has been a fan favorite since 2012 and features some of Washington's most popular players, from Alex Ovechkin to T.J. Oshie to Tom Wilson and beyond. Each player featured in the calendar is pictured either with their own dog or with a dog that is available for adoption.

The calendar for 2022 went on sale Thursday at 10 a.m. and can be purchased at washcaps.com/caninecalendars, either of the two Team Store locations, or at merchandise stands at Capital One Arena.
Washington is no stranger to philanthropic efforts, and the annual dog calendar is no exception. All proceeds from calendar sales benefit Wolf Trap Animal Rescue and Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation. Since the calendars originally went on sale nine years ago, MSE Foundation and the Capitals have raised nearly $570,000 for local animal shelters.
