Haynesworth booked on domestic charge after alleged threats originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington
Albert Haynesworth, who played 10 years in the NFL, including two with the Washington Football Team, was arrested Monday in Cleveland, Tennessee. According to multiple reports, he was charged with domestic violence and disorderly conduct after an alleged shouting match with his former girlfriend, Brittany Jackson, and her current boyfriend.
Haynesworth, 39, allegedly drove over two hours from Franklin, Tenn., to Jackson's home in Cleveland, after previously making harmful threats. Once there, the former defensive lineman did not physically harm anyone but he broke Tennessee law for allegedly causing reasonable fear of bodily injury.
After being told multiple times to stop yelling and cursing, Haynesworth was taken into custody. He bonded out of Bradley County Justice Center on Tuesday, according to TMZ.
The former All-Pro played his college ball at University of Tennessee before being drafted in the first round of the 2002 draft by the Tennessee Titans, where he played his first seven years in the NFL. Haynesworth signed a massive seven-year free agent deal with Washington in 2009, but the relationship between he and the team soured and he was traded after just two seasons and 20 games.
