Alabama WR and Projected Top-15 Draft Pick Jaylen Waddle Out for the Season

Alabama WR and projected top pick Jaylen Waddle out for the season originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington

Alabama fans received brutal news Saturday afternoon when head coach Nick Saban announced mid-game that star wide receiver Jaylen Waddle would be out for the remainder of the 2020 college football season.

Waddle hurt his right ankle on the opening kickoff of Noo. 2 ranked Alabama's matchup with Tennessee. He was taken away in an ambulance and Saban announced during a CBS interview that Waddle's fractured ankle would end his season.

Waddle is an electrifying talent and appeared to be a sure bet to be selected in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Some early mock drafts even had him going in the top 10.

The short, speedy receiver was having an excellent start to his junior season. Waddle was averaging a career-high 22.3 yards per reception, which tops even Henry Ruggs' numbers at Alabama last season.
