Nationals Hit Six Homers Wednesday In Victory, Déjà Vu All Over Again

Five different members of the Washington Nationals hit six home runs in a victory over the Chicago Cubs. Where have I seen that before?

The Nats' six home runs during Wednesday's 9-1 win were the most they have hit in a single game since Tuesday.

Tuesday, it was Adam LaRoche who homered twice. Wednesday, it was Bryce Harper, whose 17 home runs are the third-most by a teenager in MLB history (only Mel Ott's 19 and Tony Conigliaro's 24 stand in his way). Harper's second multihomer game of the season also makes him the third player in MLB history to have more than one in one season, joining Ott in 1928 and Ken Griffey, Jr. in 1989.

In more "third in history" statistics, the Nationals as a team are the third team in history to hit at least six homers in consecutive games; the 2003 Angels and 1996 Dodgers are the other two.

Based on all of these stats, I guess you could say that Nationals have deep sixed the Cubs this week.
