James Iannotti of MMA Mania is reporting that former WWE start Bobby Lashley will make his mixed martial arts debut with the Mixed Fighting Alliance on December 13 at the American Airlines Arena in Miami.
In other news, there is something called the Mixed Fighting Alliance.
No, I don't know what this Mixed Fighting Alliance is, and I find it interesting that the American Airlines Arena's web site doesn't have any events listed for December 13, but I agree with Iannotti that Lashley is an interesting MMA prospect if for no other reason than his similarity to Brock Lesnar: He was a good amateur wrestler, he's big, strong and athletic, and he'll bring in a lot of pro wrestling fans.
Of course, we've been hearing for so long that Lashley was ready to try MMA that at this point, I'll believe it when I actually see him in the cage. But at least we now (allegedly) have a date and place for his debut.
