Even Ovie's Nemesis Touts Caps Winger

Caps owner, Wayne Gretzky also comment on Alex

It's not every day that the man who regularly mocks you changes his tune and praises you.  But that's exactly what Canadian broadcaster Don Cherry seems to be doing in this preview clip of ESPN's profile on DC's own Alex Ovechkin.

Cherry, who often holds the Washington Caps winger up as an example of what NOT to do on the ice, says: "He can skate, shoot, he's tough, rough... He does it all."

Wow.  We remember when Cherry compared Ovie to one of "those goofy soccer guys."

Caps owner Ted Leonis, of course, minces no words when describing his most prominent player. "He's a rock star," Leonis tells ESPN's Rachel Nichols.

As pointed out by NHL Fanhouse, the interview airs on the network's E:60 program on Tuesday, April 21 at 7:00 p.m. ET.
