Sources: ‘Skins Haven't Settled on Defensive Coordinator

NBC Washington has learned that the Washington Redskins have not decided on a defensive coordinator -- despite an earlier report that the team had settled on Chargers linebackers coach Joe Barry.

Sources tell News4's Dianna Russini that head coach Jay Gruden and 'Skins President Bruce Allen have yet to make a decision on who should replace former defensive coordinator Jim Haslett.

Five candidates have interviewed for the job: Barry; Ed Donatell, defensive backs coach for the 49ers; former Bills, Broncos and Cowboys head coach Wade Phillips; former Jets and Browns head coach Eric Mangini, and current Redskins secondary coach Raheem Morris.

Those close to all five candidates said the candidates have not yet been contacted by the Redskins about a decision. Usually when a coach is hired, all candidates are called by the organization.
