On Sunday, The New York Times became the largest U.S. newspaper to support decriminalizing pot on the federal level. Thirty-six states and the District of Columbia have loosened their marijuana laws and 55 percent of Americans say they support legalizing the drug. Alaska and Oregon will decide whether or not to allow marijuana for recreational purposes in November of this year.
