An aerial view of Ellison's Malibu oceanfront property. Just this past year the Oracle CEO snatched up the entire island of Lanai for an estimated $500 million. One just can't have too many tropical properties, right?
Semel and his wife Jane originally sought $40 million for the Malibu property that features three structures. The final sale price was $36,943,890 million, though we'll just round up and say $37 million.
Tons of terraces are located at the rear of the mansion that look out onto the picturesque Pacific Ocean. This view shouldn't be all too unfamiliar to Ellison since he already owns numerous homes along Carbon Beach.
A view of Ellison's new sparkling swimming pool. He can take a dip if the ocean water proves a little too frigid.
Opulence abounds in the main house. Here is a look at the three-story rotunda that is capped off with an amazing skylight.
A bevy of French doors look out to the pristine landscaped garden and ocean. There are way too many sets of French doors to count!
The main house spans over 10,300 square feet of interior living space. The living room hosts the home's only fireplace.
A view of the expansive open living space, which features the living room and dining room, all flanked by a wall of French doors that showcase the gorgeous ocean views.
Another look at Ellison's pristine dining room, which boasts a contemporary aesthetic. We wonder how this mansion compares to his one on Lanai.
Compared to the other grand rooms in the home, the kitchen feels decidedly ordinary.
Here is a look at the screening room, which serves as a family den when not being used as a home theater. This vaulted ceiling is covered with a copper roof and copper awnings.
Climb up to the top floor of Semel's former spread and you'll notice the elaborate details of the three-story rotunda and skylight.
Ellison's new property is split into three structures--the main house, a two-story guest house, and the aforementioned copped-roofed screening pavilion. Billionaires sure know how to live it up!
Throughout all three structures there are a total of nine bedrooms and 13 bathrooms. Here's a view of the master suite.
Even the swanky bathrooms come with sweeping views of the Pacific and Carbon Beach.
Carbon Beach, where Ellison also owns property, features only about 70 private houses, which means that the Oracle CEO owns about 14 percent of the entire beach properties. So much for spreading around the wealth.
The Times reports that Ellison's new neighbors include Michael Milken aka the "Junk Bond King."
With nine bedrooms, that comes out to about $4.1 million per bed.
A view of one of the kids' bedrooms in Ellison's new gigantic home. He likely could squeeze in a few more bunk beds here and the room would still be spacious.
A look at the mansion's game room that includes a pool table. Unlike other billiards room, this one is quite elegant.
Running along the beach not his thing? Good thing Ellison has a sweet fitness room to keep him in shape. After all, with homes in Malibu and Hawaii means that it's swimsuit season year round.
Another look at one of the 13 bathrooms in the spread. This one is located in the two-story guest house, which houses a living room, built-in bar, one bedroom, one bathroom and an additional gym and bathroom.
151 feet of beach frontage. Enough said.
One last look at the amazing beachfront property. From the living room, you are literally steps from the ocean.
