Sunday Is Lady Gaga Day In Taiwan

Not many pop stars can say they've had a holiday named for them—but Lady Gaga can.

The city of Taichung in Taiwan had designated today Lady Gaga Day in honor of the pop star's first performance on the island.

The holiday's festivities were legion: Flags lining the city's streets, discounts at hotels for fans in Gaga-like garb, a performance by Tai Ya tribal children, a costume contest and a presentation to the singer of the keys to the city.

Gaga performed a short set to a limited audience of only 4,000—but she promised Taiwan a full show sometime soon.

Lady Gaga is in the midst of a five-day visit to the island to promote her album "Born This Way."
