President Obama's approval rating is up 9 points, thanks to the successful mission that killed Osama bin Laden. The Pew Research Center reported the results from a one-day survey, in which 56% of people polled approved of the job he was doing and 38% disapproved. Things were looking pretty grim for the President a month ago, when the country's opinion was divided: 47% approved and 48% disapproved. It's not surprising, since past presidents' ratings have bumped during momentous historical events. But political analyst Alastair Newton told CNBC he doesn't think the bump will last. “The immediate reaction in the U.S. notwithstanding, 'normal business' will soon be resumed in U.S. politics,” he said.
