House Stenographer Has Outburst During Debt Limit Vote

A stenographer was escorted off the House floor in a bizarre end to the vote to reopen the federal government late Wednesday night. The stenographer yelled into a microphone about God, Freemasons, and a divided government, aides and members said. The woman, Dianne Reidy, was escorted off the floor by House staff. "The greatest deception here is this is not one nation under God, it never was," Reidy could be heard yelling on the floor. Reidy's outburst visibly shook House aides, who pulled the woman away from the dais during her outburst. Capitol Police said she was "transported to a local area hospital for evaluation."
