Javier will play a rock star, who becomes pals with Kevin McHale's character, the wheel-chair bound Artie.

"We're going to rock the house," the star told the mag. "We're going to do some heavy metal — Spanish heavy metal, which is the worst."

Harry Shum Jr., who plays Mike Chang on "Glee," hadn't heard the news when he visited FOX's "Good Day LA," on Tuesday, but said he was thrilled about the casting choice.

"No way," he said. "Amazing! That's going to be incredible!"
