Virginia Mother Shot, Killed; Father of Their Children Charged With Murder

The woman's daughter called 911, police say

A mother of three died Saturday after her ex-boyfriend shot her multiple times in her Leesburg, Virginia, home, police say.

Christina Fisher, 34, was found with multiple gunshot wounds about 6:15 p.m. Saturday when Leesburg police responded to her home on the 300 block of Nansemond Street SE. Her 15-year-old daughter called 911, police said.

Fisher was airlifted to a hospital, where she died.

Fisher's ex-boyfriend, Darrick Lee Lewis, 30, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder, assault and violating a protective order.

Fisher and Lewis had two children together, police said. Fisher also had another child.

Police said Lewis went to Fisher's home Saturday night and shot her during an altercation. He left the home and went to a house in the Middleburg, Virginia, area where police found him and took him into custody, police said.

Lewis made an initial appearance in Loudoun County court Monday via closed circuit TV. About 10 of his family members were present, and several broke into tears at the end of the hearing.
