Woman locked herself in bedroom; called police

A woman in Prince William County locked herself in a bedroom to evade two burglars who forcibly entered her home Tuesday morning.

An 18-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy have been charged in the case.

The homeowner told police that she was home when two men forced their way inside through a basement door of her home on Dondis Creek Drive in Triangle around 8:30 a.m.

She locked herself in a bedroom and contacted police.

When officers arrived, they surrounded the home and found two suspects inside. They detained one inside the house; the other ran out the front door, where other officers apprehended him.

Prince William County Police have charged 18-year-old Cody Crenshaw and a 15-year-old boy. Both are residents of Dumfries, Virginia. The younger suspect has not been publicly named because he is a minor.

Crenshaw has been charged with with burglary, destruction of property, possession of burglarious tools, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He is expected to appear in court Dec. 1.

The teen has been charged with burglary and destruction of property. He is being held at a juvenile detention facility with a pending court date.

No property was reported missing from the house.
