A severe thunderstorm watch for parts of the area has been canceled.
The watch issued at 3:30 p.m. covered Stafford and Spotsylvania counties, plus some parts of central Virginia and three counties in southern Maryland: Calvert, Charles and St. Mary's.
Warmer, more humid and more unstable air has been moving back into the area, pushing temperatures to 5-10 degrees warmer than Tuesday.
Rain chances will fall to 30 percent or lower Thursday, but heat and humidity will increase. Saturday — the day of the Capital Pride Parade — and Sunday are looking clear of rain.
