WASA Valve Leads to Low Water Pressure on Hill

Valve adjusted by workers

A water main problem caused low-pressure issues Monday for customers on Capitol Hill and in Dupont Circle and Brentwood Park.

The D.C. Water and Sewer Authority said a 48-inch valve had to be adjusted while crews were working at Soldiers Home.

WASA opened a valve in the area, which rebuilt water pressure.  Customers who have flushometers may have had to restart them.

The following ZIP codes were affected:

  • 20001
  • 20002
  • 20003
  • 20004
  • 20005
  • 20006
  • 20007
  • 20008
  • 20009

WASA also reported a water main break in the 1200 block of 12th and O streets in Northwest.

Crews were repairing a 6-inch broken main.  WASA estimated the main would be fixed by 4:30 p.m.
