D.C. police are investigating the shooting deaths of three people in less than 24 hours over the weekend. The victims include a 17-year-old boy.
The first victim was shot around 9:40 p.m. Saturday in the 3400 block of Holmead Place NW. Police found 21-year-old Eduardo Carias-Martinez, of Hyattsville, Maryland, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He died at a local hospital. Police believe the shooter was wearing a mask.
Just hours later, 17-year-old Andrew Newman of Northeast D.C. was shot around 12:40 a.m. Sunday in the 200 block of T Street NE. Newman died at a local hospital. Police have not released a description of the shooter.
Around 6:55 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to the report of another shooting, this one in the 1300 block of 1st St. SW, where they found the victim inside a home. James Anderson, 27, of Southwest D.C., was taken to a local hospital, where he died.
Metropolitan Police offer a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to an arrest and conviction in any homicide committed in D.C. Anyone with information is asked to call police at (202) 727-9099, or text an anonymous tip to 50411.
