Two Men Found Dead in Arlington Apartment

Arlington's Homicide/Robbery Unit investigating

Two men were found dead Tuesday morning in Arlington, and police say their deaths appear to be a double homicide.

The deceased men were identified as Keefe Spriggs, 59, of Arlington, Va., and Carl Moten, 31, of no fixed address. Their bodies were found in the living room of an apartment Spriggs rented in the 1900 block of N. Culpeper Street.

A maintenance worker at the building found the bodies shortly after 10 a.m. He'd gone to check on the men after receiving a phone call from family members who said they hadn't heard from them in awhile.

Detectives believe it's an isolated incident, police spokesman Dustin Sternbeck said Wednesday, but he had no other details on how the men died or whether suspects have been identified, the Associated Press reported. There was blood at the scene, but police did not recover a weapon, News4's Pat Lawson Muse reported. Initially police had said only that the deaths appeared suspicious.

The deaths would be the third and fourth homicides in the county in the past two weeks after 28 straight months without one.

Arlington's Homicide/Robbery Unit is investigating. Anyone with information should call 703-228-4197.
