Three Men Rob Patrons, Employees at Takoma Park Restaurant
Three armed men stormed the La Fonda Chiquita restaurant in Takoma Park Saturday, pulling off a bold daylight robbery of patrons and employees. The men, who police say had visited the restaurant earlier that day, returned shortly before 3:30 p.m. with handguns to rob patrons and employees of cell phones, wallets and other personal effects, according to city police spokeswoman Catherine Plevy. Two Virginians Had Salmonella When They Died
Two Virginia residents -- one of whom was from Northern Virginia -- had salmonella when they died, but it's not clear whether the illness is what killed them. Virginia state health authorities tell WTOP the deaths have not yet been linked to the salmonella outbreak that's being associated with peanut butter. (WTOP)
