A shot was fired into Howard University Hospital Monday morning, nearly missing a woman’s head.
About 9:45 a.m., two people chasing a third person opened fire near the 5th Street entrance of the hospital, according to the Howard University Department of Public Safety.
One of the bullets shattered a window and lodged into a wall in the OB-GYN department.
No one was injured, but the bullet nearly hit the mother of a newborn baby.
Jason Johncox, who heads dialysis at the hospital, assisted patients.
“We had patients on a Metro Access bus so we had to get them off that, back inside and to a locked-down area,” he said.
D.C. police are investigating the shooting with Howard.
