Twelve people -- including six children -- were injured in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 270 in Montgomery County, officials say.
Around 9:45 p.m. fire and rescue crews responded to the crash in the northbound lanes of I-270 between Route 109 and Route 121 in the Clarksburg area, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue spokesperson Pete Piringer said.
At least five cars were involved in the crash. A woman was extricated from a vehicle and taken to the hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries, Piringer said.
EMS workers evaluated the 11 others injured, including children, and all other injuries were minor, Piringer said. Eight people, including four children, were taken to the hospital.
All lanes are closed on northbound I-270 north of Exit 19/Route 121/Clarksburg Road and drivers should expect delays, officials said.
