The United States Secret Service arrested someone outside the White House Thursday night.
The unidentified person was arrested about 8:40 p.m. for assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, threatening bodily harm and destruction of property, the Secret Service said in a statement.
There was no impact on White House operations, the agency said.
Video of the incident posted to Twitter shows a Secret Service vehicle rushing to the scene where officers were arresting the suspect. An officer gets out of the cruiser and runs to a group of officers who appear to have tackled the suspect to the ground. There appeared to be a struggle during the arrest.
No further information was immediately available.
The incident comes days after an Alabama man shot and killed himself near the White House. He fired several shots and none of them were directed at the White House, D.C. police said. President Donald Trump was not at the White House at the time of the shooting.
