Following the Redskins' 30-12 victory over the Buccaneers in Thursday's preseason finale, Robert Griffin III announced via Twitter that he has been officially cleared to play after an arduous rehabilitation process.

Fresh off a meeting with WWE superstar John Cena, Dr. James Andrews examined Griffin Thursday and gave him the go-ahead. Head coach Mike Shanahan, however, did not confirm Griffin's status for Week 1 against the Eagles.
"I did talk to Dr. Andrews," he said. "He's going to approve Robert can play. There are a couple concerns that he has. I'll talk to Robert over the weekend and I'll let you know on Monday where we're at."
Shanahan would not elaborate on those concerns, but according to The Washington Post, none are significant enough to keep RGIII off the field Sept. 9.
