The victim, 59, was hit by a silver Honda on Old Georgetown Road near Vista Road, according to Montgomery County Police. The driver remained on the scene.

Investigators at the scene report that the man was in a lane of traffic and not in a crosswalk or intersection when he was hit.

News4’s Megan McGrath says authorities are uncertain about which side of the road the victim was crossing due to conflicting witness accounts.

This accident comes just a day after six other pedestrians -- including three school-aged children -- were injured by vehicles around the D.C. area.
