Man Arrested in Fatal Stabbing of Ex's Boyfriend in Germantown

A Gaithersburg, Md. man was arrested Wednesday in the fatal stabbing of his ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend, Montgomery County Police said.

Authorities say the victim, 40-year-old William Palacios, was with his girlfriend in the parking lot in front of his Germantown home Tuesday night when Miguel Angel Rodriguez-Gaona showed up and confronted him.

Rodriguez-Gaona, 36, is the ex-boyfriend of the woman, police said.

The two men argued, and police say Rodriguez-Gaona stabbed Palacios multiple times before leaving.

Palacios went inside his home in the 12900 block of Walnut View Court, and police received a 911 call around 11:25 p.m. Palacios was taken to a hospital, where he died.

Rodriguez-Gaona, of Gaithersburg, was arrested about noon Wednesday in Baltimore. He is facing a charge of first-degree murder.
