Baltimore's beloved beer brand of choice has debuted its first new brew in more than three decades.
National Bohemian Beer Co. brand manager Chris "C-Mo" Molloy tells news outlets that the new Crab Shack Shandy is for sale in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Virginia and Washington, D.C., from now until the end of summer.
Despite its name and colorful packaging, the Natty Boh shandy features neither crab spice nor any seafood. Molloy says the branding is meant to evoke the setting where the company sees customers quaffing the citrusy lager.
Although the brand is now owned by Los Angeles-based Pabst Brewing Company, Natty Boh was first brewed in Baltimore in 1885. It's considered a Baltimore icon, and more than 85 percent of its sales come from the crab-loving state.
