A young man died after crashing his motorcycle into the side of a trash truck in Montgomery County, Maryland.
The accident occurred shortly before 5 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Spencerville Road and Peach Orchard Road. A preliminary investigation suggests the garbage truck was driving eastbound on Spencerville Road when the motorcycle entered the roadway and hit it.
The motorcyclist, a 26-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver stayed at the crash site and fully cooperated with authorities.
The entire roadway was shut for an extended period of time to allow for accident reconstruction.
The motorcyclist’s next of kin has not yet been notified.
