Frederick County authorities say a hiker is under medical observation after he was bitten by a snake at Cunningham Falls State Park near Thurmont.
The man called 911 around 7 p.m. Sunday and said he was bitten on a trail in the park's Manor Area off U.S. 15, Fire and Rescue Services Lt. George Thomas told the Frederick News-Post.
Thomas said the man was taken to Frederick Memorial Hospital for observation.
It's not clear what kind of snake bit the man. But Thomas said the park is home to rattlesnakes and copperheads. Both are venomous.
