Maryland Man Accused of Strangling Roommate to Death

A 40-year-old man is facing a murder charge after investigators say he strangled his roommate to death.

Officers were called to the 2700 block of Marlette Place in Waldorf, Maryland, at 2:17 p.m. Friday. According to the Charles County Sheriff's Office, a witness told the officers that Moises Morales-Hernandez, 40, may have killed his roommate, Jose Eliseo Pena-Lemus, 27.

The victim's cause of death was not immediately clear, but an autopsy determined that he had been strangled.

Morales-Hernandez has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder, authorities say.

He is being held without bond.
