Police say a man who they were about to serve a search warrant to barricaded himself inside his Maryland home and set it on fire.
Officers attempted to serve an arrest warrant at a Glenn Dale home on Prospect Place Thursday afternoon. Sources tell News4 the suspect was David Coley, a former deputy director of security for the Verizon Center.
"Once he was confronted by warrant to be served on him, he barricaded himself in the house, went upstairs and ignited the fire," Prince George's County Fire spokesperson Mark Brady told News4.
Heavy black smoke burst through the home's windows. According to Coley's ex-wife, she had been trying to get him out of the home for two years.
