Man Struck, Killed in Prince George's County

A SUV struck and killed a man Friday night in Prince George's County, police say.

Wayne Tonio Davis, 63, was struck as he tried to cross East Capitol Street near Yost Place in Seat Pleasant, Maryland, about 7:30 p.m., police said.

Davis was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver involved stayed on the scene and was taken to a hospital for an evaluation, police said.

Police believe Davis was not using a crosswalk.

Police are trying to identify and find another driver who they say hit the back of the SUV before fleeing the scene. Police do not believe that driver contributed to the fatal crash.

The fleeing car is described as a sedan, possibly a Buick. It may have front-end damage.
