A man was arrested on multiple drug charges after he called 911 Tuesday to report his 5-year-old son was non-responsive.
The boy had accidentally taken methadone, his father told officials. He was transported to Baltimore Washington Medical Center and treated successfully.
Police obtained a search warrant for the home of the father, Paul Kristopher Brooks of Severn, Md. They discovered that the methadone had been acquired illegally, and in the home they found suspected cocaine, marijuana, heroin, methamphetamine and additional methadone, all in sufficient quantities to indicate distribution. The police also found a loaded .357 Magnum and a .22 caliber rifle.
Brooks was charged with Possession with the Intent to Distribute Cocaine, Marijuana, Heroin and Methamphetamine, Possession of Methadone, Cocaine, Marijuana, Heroin and Methamphetamine, two counts of Possession of a Firearm in Commission of a Drug Trafficking Crime and one count of Firearm Accessible to a Minor.
The investigation is ongoing with additional charges and suspects possible.
