How to Watch Washington Wizards Vs. New Orleans Pelicans

How to watch Wizards vs. Pelicans originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington

The Wizards have struggled in their shortened road trip since returning to live action after their COVID-19 outbreak, falling at the hands of both the Spurs and the Rockets.

Now, coming off Tuesday's disappointing loss against John Wall and the Rockets, the Wizards are back in action in New Orleans.

Beal has continued to blossom into one of the NBA's best scorers, dropping another 33 points against his former teammate - a total that actually brings down his season scoring average. But he also continues to bear a huge load on the court, with none of his teammates stepping up as reliable secondary options.

He'll have to show out once more if the Wizards are going to be able to take advantage of a Pelicans team who is struggling in its own right. Here's everything you need to know heading into Wednesday night.

WIZARDS vs. PELICANS: WHAT TO WATCH

Are the Wizards able to take advantage of a team that has fallen off a cliff? The Pelicans started the season off 5-2, thanks to their talented young core that includes Zion Williamson, Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball and others. But since then, they have lost eight of their last nine games.

The Wizards are still trying to get back into the swing of things after missing two weeks of action. Wednesday's game is just their third time back on the court, and they have lost by at least 19 points in each of their first two games. It's also the second game of their first back-to-back, so how they manage their minutes and are able to tap into what remains of their depth will be a crucial factor in this one.

WIZARDS vs. PELICANS PLAYERS TO WATCH

Bradley Beal, G, Wizards (34.5 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 4.9 apg): As long as Beal is averaging nearly twice as many points per game as any other Wizard, he will continue to be the most obvious player to watch anytime Washington is on the court. He's also second on the team in assists and first in steals.

Zion Williamson, F, Pelicans (23.4 ppg, 7.9 rpg, 1.9 apg): Williamson entered last season as one of the most highly-anticipated young players in the NBA in recent memory, and he hasn't disappointed. In his sophomore season, he's leading New Orleans in points per game and is second in rebounding, pairing with Brandon Ingram to create one of the league's brightest young forward tandems.
