Severe Storms Set Off Flash Flood Warnings in DC Area

A flash flood warning took effect for D.C. and parts of Montgomery County, Maryland, as severe weather moved in Monday evening.

The flash flood warning was set until 12:30 a.m., according to the National Weather Service.

“Keep your umbrellas handy this week. You’re likely to use them at least once,” Chuck Bell said. 

There’s a 30% chance of storms starting late afternoon Monday. Storm chances are at 40% Tuesday and Wednesday, 20% Thursday, 40% Friday, and to-be-determined chance Saturday and Sunday.

High temperatures will drop into the 80s this weekend.
