Don't Be Afraid, Air Force Plans Early-Morning Flights

2 fighter jets to fly over DC

WASHINGTON -- A pair of F-16 fighter jets will fly periodically at relatively low altitudes over downtown Washington Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, Air Force officials said.

The flights are part of a military exercise.

The jets will cruise over D.C. several times between midnight and 6 a.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, Air Force Lt. Col. Almarah Belk said.

A helicopter and two Cessna prop planes also will take part in the exercise, she said.
