D.C. Mayor Adrian Fenty joined members of a nonprofit youth organization to open a park named for a teenager slain in 2003.
The Diamond Teague Park and Marina officially opened today.
Teague was a member of the Earth Conservation Corps, a nonprofit organization whose members restore and clean the Anacostia River and surrounding areas. Corps members will be managers of the marina and serve as dock hands.
The park cost $8 million and is across from Nationals Park.
The marina, which lets baseball fans get to the stadium by water taxi, opened in April.
Teague's 2003 death remains unsolved.
