DC Officer Charged After Being Caught in Teenage Girl's Bedroom

Police in Maryland say a D.C. police officer has been charged with engaging in a sexual act with a minor he recently met on a dating app.

A Prince George's County police news release says the mother of the 14-year-old victim called police after finding 25-year-old Nathan Clinkscale in her daughter's bedroom Monday morning.

According to court documents, Clinkscale and the victim met the day before on a dating app called "Interracial Cupid." Police say Clinkscale admitted to having sex with the victim but said he thought she was 18 years old.

Clinkscale was charged with third-degree sex offense Monday and is in the custody of the Department of Corrections. It's unclear if he has a lawyer.

Clinkscale is no longer with the Metropolitan Police Department.

“Whenever you hear something like this involving one of our officers, it’s very disturbing," D.C. Police Chief Peter Newsham said. "You don’t want to hear stuff like that involving one of our police officers."
