A loose emu is looking for a home in Frederick County.
The large, flightless bird Australian bird was found wandering the streets in Frederick County this weekend, the News-Post reported.
Frederick County Sheriff's office were called to the scene in the Sun Meadow neighborhood of Walkersville. Officers told the News-Post that the animal was good-natured and non-threatening when they caught up with it on the 9500 block of Devilbiss Bridge Road.
Officers petted the emu to keep it calm before animal control agents arrived.
The owner was not immediately located. If no one comes forward to claim the bird, Animal Control will seek to place it in a home.
