Montgomery County officials are scheduled to take action on a measure to change the county's approach to economic development.
The county council will hold a hearing Tuesday and act on the bill.
It reflects Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett's plan to create a nonprofit workforce development organization to replace the county's economic development department.
A council panel already has agreed with the plan in concept. The panel also agreed with the need for legislation authorizing the council to designate a nonprofit corporation to implement workforce development policies.
