Car Wash Employee Killed in Chain-Reaction Accident in Manassas

An employee at a car wash in Northern Virginia was killed Saturday after another employee set off a chain-reaction accident.

The victim has been identified as 38-year-old Paula Margarita Rogel, of Manassas, police said. She was a mother of three children, the youngest of whom is just a year old, according to a GoFundMe page verified by her family.

Rogel was working at the Soap and Suds Carwash when a 19-year-old male employee attempted to move a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee from the back entrance after the vehicle had been washed, Prince William County police said.

As the vehicle moved forward, it collided with a 2011 Dodge Ram, which then hit a 2011 Scion SD. The vehicle then struck Rogel. She died at a hospital.

The cause of the collision is being investigated.
